Product information

Description

The Digitus 17" LCD KVM Console DS-72210-2US 8-Port VGA US Keyboard Rack Mountable Black is a professional server management solution designed for efficient hardware control in rack enclosures. This compact 1U module integrates a 17-inch TFT display, an 8-port VGA KVM switch, a US English keyboard, and a sensitive touchpad into a single space-saving housing. It streamlines data center operations by allowing administrators to control multiple servers directly from the rack without the need for separate monitors, keyboards, and mice.

Advantages

This rack-mountable console significantly optimizes server room space, creating up to 85% more free space within the rack cabinet compared to standalone peripherals. The integrated 17-inch anti-reflective and break-proof glass screen delivers clear visuals with a resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixels at 60 Hz and a 1000:1 contrast ratio, supporting 16.7 million colors for accurate monitoring. Its modular design ensures high adaptability and future security, while safety locking mechanisms prevent accidental damage when the unit is extracted or retracted.

Suitable for

Server room and data center hardware management
IT rack enclosures requiring space-saving peripherals
Centralized administration of multiple servers via VGA interface
Enterprise network infrastructures and server farms

When it may not be suitable

This device may not be suitable for server environments that rely exclusively on digital video interfaces such as HDMI or DisplayPort, as it utilizes a VGA interface. Additionally, operations requiring non-US keyboard layouts or ultra-high-definition displays exceeding 1280 x 1024 pixels will need alternative solutions.

Key specifications

17-inch (43.2 cm) TFT LCD display
Display resolution: 1280 x 1024 pixels at 60 Hz
Contrast ratio: 1000:1
Color support: 16.7 million colors
Integrated 8-port VGA KVM switch
US English keyboard layout
Touchpad with two function keys
Rack mounting design height: 1U
Color: Black (RAL 9005)
Includes 8 x Combo KVM cables

How to use

Mount the 1U console securely into your standard server rack enclosure using appropriate hardware. Connect the included combo KVM cables from the 8-port switch on the back of the console to the VGA and USB or PS/2 ports of your target servers. Slide the console out from the rack, tilt the TFT monitor to a comfortable viewing angle up to 120 degrees, and power on the system. Use the integrated US keyboard and touchpad to navigate and manage your connected servers efficiently, and engage the safety locks before sliding the unit back into the rack housing.

What to consider before purchase

Verify that your servers support VGA video output and compatible connection cables
Check available space in your 19-inch rack enclosure for a 1U sliding console
Ensure the US English keyboard layout meets your administrative requirements
Confirm the required number of connected servers does not exceed the 8-port capacity

Ensure proper ventilation within the rack enclosure and engage the safety locking mechanism whenever the console is retracted to prevent mechanical wear and accidental impact damage.
