Unmanaged Switch PLANET GSW2401
The Unmanaged Switch PLANET GSW2401 is a 24-port Gigabit Ethernet switch that provides 10/100/1000 Mbps auto-negotiation on all RJ45 ports. Designed for enterprise backbone and data center networking, the GSW2401 supports 9K jumbo frames, a MAC address table of up to 8K entries and a non-blocking switching fabric with 48 Gbps throughput. The fanless, 1U rack-mountable design offers silent operation and efficient cooling for continuous use.
The GSW2401 delivers wire-speed forwarding and Store-and-Forward switching to ensure low latency and high data integrity. It supports auto-MDI/MDI-X and Flow Control for reliable connections to servers and routers. A DIP switch provides four operation modes — Standard, Flow Control Off, VLAN and Extend — enabling flexible deployment scenarios, including extended reach up to 200 meters at 10 Mbps per port in Extend mode. The switch is compact, energy-efficient and suitable for environments that require quiet, maintenance-free operation.
Install the GSW2401 in a suitable 1U rack space or place it on a stable surface with adequate ventilation. Connect network devices using Cat5e/Cat6 cables to the RJ45 ports; the switch will auto-negotiate speed and duplex. Use the DIP switch to select the desired operation mode: choose Standard for normal Gigabit switching, VLAN to isolate port traffic, Extend to enable 10 Mbps links up to 200 m with per-port isolation, or Flow Control Off when flow control is not required. Connect power and verify link LEDs to confirm successful connections.
For reliable performance, use Cat5e or Cat6 cabling and ensure the switch has sufficient ventilation around it. When using Extend mode, confirm connected devices support 10 Mbps operation and plan for reduced throughput. Use VLAN mode to limit broadcast domains and mitigate broadcast storms in dense network deployments.
