Unmanaged Switch Edimax ES-5800G V3
The Edimax ES-5800G V3 is an unmanaged 8-port Gigabit desktop switch that provides 10/100/1000 Mbps connectivity in a compact plastic housing. It complies with IEEE 802.3, 802.3u and 802.3ab standards, supports auto MDI/MDI-X, full and half duplex modes for 10/100 Mbps and full duplex for 1000 Mbps, and uses store-and-forward switching with support for jumbo frames up to 9K bytes. The device is suitable for small office and home (SOHO) environments where a simple, reliable Ethernet expansion is required.
The ES-5800G V3 delivers wire-speed packet filtering and forwarding with a store-and-forward architecture that filters fragment and CRC error packets. Energy Efficient Ethernet (IEEE802.3az) is supported to reduce power consumption. The switch is plug-and-play (unmanaged), requires no configuration, and offers flexible power options through an AC adapter or optional USB power (USB cable included; 1A USB adapter not included).
Place the ES-5800G V3 on a stable surface near your network equipment. Connect each network device to the switch using standard Ethernet cables into the RJ-45 ports. If necessary, power the unit using the supplied AC adapter or the included USB power cable with a suitable 1A USB adapter. The switch is unmanaged and operates immediately after powering up; no software configuration is required. Ensure connected devices are set to their default network settings to obtain connectivity through the switch.
For optimal performance, use Cat5e or higher-rated Ethernet cables and connect bandwidth-intensive devices (NAS, gaming consoles, streaming players) to the Gigabit ports. Place the switch in a well-ventilated area and avoid exposing it to moisture or extreme temperatures. If using USB power, use a stable 1A USB power adapter that meets safety standards.
