Unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet Switch EDIMAX GS-1008E V2 — 8x RJ-45 10/100/1000, 16 Gbit/s, 5V, Black
EDIMAX GS-1008E V2 is an unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet switch with eight RJ-45 ports that support 10/100/1000 Mbps. Designed for simple network expansion in home and small office environments, the switch delivers wire-speed forwarding with a 16 Gbit/s switching capacity and a MAC address table that stores up to 4,000 entries. The compact, fanless metal housing supports desktop placement or wall-mount installation and uses a 5 V DC input for power.
The GS-1008E V2 provides plug-and-play operation with auto-negotiation, Auto-MDI/MDI-X and full-duplex flow control to simplify deployment without configuration. Store-and-forward architecture filters fragment and CRC error packets to maintain reliable throughput. Support for IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet, inactive link detection and cable length detection reduces power consumption during low activity. The switch also supports 9K jumbo frames to improve performance for large file transfers.
Place the switch on a flat surface or mount it on a wall using the integrated mounting points. Connect the external 5 V DC power adapter to the switch and plug it into a power outlet. Attach Ethernet cables from your router, modem or networked devices to any of the eight RJ-45 ports; the unit supports Auto-MDI/MDI-X so no crossover cable is required. Devices will automatically negotiate the highest supported speed and duplex mode. No configuration is required for basic operation.
For optimal performance, connect high-bandwidth devices (such as NAS or workstations) using quality Cat5e or Cat6 cables and place the switch in a well-ventilated location despite its fanless design. To reduce energy usage, enable Energy Efficient Ethernet-compatible settings on connected equipment where available and avoid exceeding recommended ambient temperature ranges to maintain reliability.
