Network transmitter & receiver Edimax RE23S
The Edimax RE23S is a compact network transmitter and receiver designed to extend and strengthen home Wi‑Fi coverage while offering the option to act as a Wi‑Fi access point for wired networks. Supporting dual‑band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz operation and 802.11ac technology, the RE23S delivers combined throughput up to 2600 Mbps (N800 + AC1733) and includes a gigabit Ethernet port for wired devices. The device is compatible with any router and provides LED indicators for power, WLAN and WPS.
The RE23S provides seamless roaming using a single Wi‑Fi name (SSID) so devices automatically switch to the strongest signal as you move through the home. It supports MU‑MIMO for simultaneous multi‑device streaming, offers plug‑and‑play AP mode with web‑based Smart iQ Setup for fast installation, and can upgrade a single‑band router to reliable dual‑band coverage. A Gigabit Ethernet port allows stable wired connections for consoles or smart TVs.
Plug the RE23S into a power outlet within range of your existing router and use the browser‑based Smart iQ Setup to detect nearby Wi‑Fi networks. Choose either range‑extender mode (seamless roaming with one SSID) or AP mode (create a Wi‑Fi access point from a wired Ethernet connection). For AP mode, connect the router or switch to the RE23S Gigabit Ethernet port; additional RE23S units can be added and auto‑grouped for larger wired networks. After setup, devices will automatically connect to the strongest signal provided by the RE23S and your router.
Place the RE23S midway between your main router and areas with weak signal, avoid placing it inside cabinets or behind large metal objects, and keep firmware updated via the web interface to maintain performance and security.
