EFB fiber jumpers (patch cords) conform to the structured cabling definitions of ISO/IEC 11801 and serve as the shortest link between a passive interface and an active device port. Available with common connector types such as LC, SC, E2000® and MPO/MTP, these singlemode and multimode patch cords are manufactured with aramid yarn reinforcement and an LSZH sheath for halogen-free, flame-retardant performance. Each jumper is electrically/optically tested and supplied with an individual test report.
EFB patch cords offer improved tensile resistance and long-term stability due to aramid yarn reinforcement. The LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) sheath provides halogen-free and flame-retardant properties in compliance with IEC-60754-2, IEC-60332-1 and IEC-61034. Connectors meet quality grades B/2 for singlemode and A/1 for multimode according to IEC-61753 series. Each assembly is 100% checked and comes with an individual test protocol to ensure traceable performance.
Connect the EFB fiber jumper between the passive interface (patch panel, wall outlet) and the active device port (transceiver, switch). Ensure connectors and fiber types (singlemode or multimode) match on both ends before insertion. Handle the cable by the connector body and avoid bending beyond the manufacturer's specified minimum bend radius. Route and secure the jumper to prevent strain on connectors and maintain cable management standards.
Verify connector types and fiber mode compatibility prior to installation, store jumpers on reels or in protective packaging to avoid microbends, and follow standard testing procedures using the supplied individual test report to confirm insertion loss and return loss meet system requirements.
