EFB Elektronik O8341S40OS2 40m 12x SC OS2 Fibre Optic Trunk Cable
The EFB Elektronik O8341S40OS2 is a high-quality 40-meter fibre optic trunk cable designed for professional network infrastructure. Featuring 12x SC connectors on both ends, this cable utilizes OS2 single-mode fibre with a 9 µm core diameter to ensure reliable, high-speed data transmission. The cable is constructed with a U-DQ(ZN) BH design and a low smoke zero halogen (LSZH) jacket, meeting the Dca CPR-class requirements for safety and durability in various installation environments.
This trunk cable is manufactured and polished in a factory setting, undergoing rigorous functional testing to ensure consistent performance. Each unit is delivered with an individual attenuation protocol for every fibre, guaranteeing quality standards. The assembly includes double-sided stepped cable whips for easier management, and individual cables are clearly identified with numbered markers. For added convenience during installation, the cable is supplied with a fabric hose that acts as a drawing-in tube, protecting the connectors and facilitating smooth routing through ducts and shafts.
This cable may not be suitable for applications requiring multi-mode fibre connectivity, as it is strictly designed for OS2 single-mode standards. Additionally, it is not intended for outdoor environments that require direct burial or extreme weather resistance, as the U-DQ(ZN) BH construction is optimized for indoor or protected conduit use.
To install the cable, carefully remove it from the polybag packaging. Utilize the included fabric hose as a drawing-in tube to guide the cable through conduits or cable trays, ensuring that the minimum bend radius is respected to prevent damage to the fibre optics. Once positioned, connect the SC connectors to the corresponding ports on your networking equipment. Ensure that all connection points are clean and free of dust before insertion to maintain signal integrity.
Usage recommendations: Always inspect the fibre optic connectors for debris before installation and use a fibre cleaning tool if necessary. Keep the attenuation protocol provided with the cable for future maintenance and troubleshooting reference.
