Product information

Description

The EINHELL GC-PM 56/2 S HW is a petrol walk-behind lawn mower with a 56 cm cutting width and an adjustable cutting height from 2.5 to 7.0 cm. Designed for medium to large lawns, it combines a robust OHV petrol engine, rear-wheel drive and a metal one-piece mowing deck with Vortex Technology to produce consistent, even cutting and efficient grass flow. Compact overall dimensions and a foldable, height-adjustable handle make handling, transport and storage straightforward. The mower includes a large 80-litre grass catcher with a fill-level indicator and two handles, and is suitable for garden areas up to approximately 2,200 m².

Advantages

The petrol drive provides continuous power across varied terrain and grass conditions, supported by the Einhell quick start system and a starter cable on the long handle for reliable starting. The Vortex Technology deck and integrated grass comb lift the grass before cutting, improving cut quality and discharge. A single-piece metal deck with optimised flow characteristics increases suction and shredding efficiency. The mower’s 5-in-1 functionality (mowing, mulching, side eject, rear deflector eject and catching) offers flexibility for different maintenance tasks. Large ball-bearing high wheels and a central six-level cutting height adjustment make operation easier on uneven ground.

Suitable for

Medium to large private lawns up to ~2,200 m²
Gardens with mixed terrain and slight inclines
Users who need mulching, side eject or catching options
Seasonal lawn maintenance and regular grass cutting

Key specifications

Cutting width: 560 mm
Cutting height range: 25–70 mm, central adjustment with 6 levels
Power source: petrol OHV engine, approx. 2800 W
Maximum rotational speed: ~2850 RPM
Drive: disengageable rear-wheel drive with geared transmission
Grass catcher capacity: 80 L with fill-level indicator and two handles
Construction: single-piece metal mowing deck with Vortex Technology and integrated grass comb
Handle: height-adjustable long handle (3 settings) with soft grip and foldable storage position
Wheels: highwheeler design with ball-bearing driving wheels and treaded tyres
Weight: 38.3 kg
Overall dimensions: 630 × 1000 × 460 mm

How to use

Fill the mower with the recommended petrol and check oil levels before first use, following the engine manufacturer’s instructions. Set the cutting height centrally to the desired level using the six-stage height adjustment, attach the grass catcher if you plan to collect clippings or install the mulch adapter for mulching. Use the quick start system and pull the starter cable on the long handle to start the engine. Engage or disengage the rear-wheel drive as required for traction on varying terrain. After mowing, empty the grass catcher using the two handles and, where necessary, use the supplied cleaning tool in the upright cleaning position to remove debris from the deck.

Usage recommendations

Operate the mower on dry grass when possible for best collection and even cutting. Regularly inspect the blade, fasteners and air filter, and sharpen or replace the blade when cutting performance decreases. Follow local regulations for petrol storage and engine maintenance, and allow the engine to cool before refuelling. Use the mulching function for fine clippings to return nutrients to the lawn; use side or rear ejector modes when grass is long or wet for improved flow and reduced clogging.

The Walk-behind lawn mower EINHELL GC-PM 56/2 S HW is compared against several alternative Einhell devices, including other petrol walk-behind mowers, as well as lightweight electric and cordless string trimmers. All of these products belong to the category of lawn and grass maintenance tools, but they differ significantly in their power source, engine capacity, cutting width, and intended application. The main product is a high-performance petrol mower designed for spacious lawns, whereas the competitor products range from smaller wheeled mowers to compact handheld trimming tools.

⚙️ The specifications comparison table below evaluates device types, power sources, cutting widths, and weights to clearly show the practical differences between a heavy-duty petrol mower and lighter alternatives.

Parameter	EINHELL GC-PM 56/2 S HW	Einhell GC-PM 46/2 S HW-E	Einhell GC-PM 51/3 S HW-E	Einhell GC-ET 2522	Einhell GC-CT 18/24	Einhell 3411104	Practical conclusion
Device type	Walk behind lawn mower	Lawn Mower	Walk behind lawn mower	Electric lawn mower	String trimmer	String trimmer	The main product and the first three alternatives are wheeled lawn mowers, while the remaining three are handheld string trimmers for detailing.
Power source	Petrol	Petrol	Petrol	Electric AC	Battery	Battery	Petrol models offer full cord-free autonomy for larger yards, whereas electric and battery tools suit smaller or localized tasks.
Cutting width	560 mm	46 cm	510 mm	220 mm	24 cm	24 cm	The main product features a wide 56 cm cutting path, ensuring faster completion times on expansive lawns compared to narrower alternatives.
Weight	38.3 kg	Not specified	34.8 kg	1.3 kg	1.27 kg	1.2 kg	Petrol mowers are much heavier but utilize wheeled propulsion, whereas trimmers weigh around a kilogram for easy manual lifting.

◎ The suitability table below evaluates which user needs, usage scenarios, and buyer profiles match each compared product.

Use case	Recommended product	Why
Maintaining large lawns	Walk-behind lawn mower EINHELL GC-PM 56/2 S HW	The generous 56 cm cutting width and robust petrol engine enable efficient mowing across large grass areas.
Mowing medium-sized gardens	Einhell GC-PM 51/3 S HW-E or Einhell GC-PM 46/2 S HW-E	Provide slightly narrower cutting widths (46–51 cm) while maintaining the freedom and power of a petrol engine.
Trimming edges and hard-to-reach spots	Einhell GC-CT 18/24 or Einhell 3411104	Extremely lightweight build (around 1.2 kg) and battery power make them ideal for precise edging around obstacles.
Regular grass touch-ups near power outlets	Einhell GC-ET 2522	A lightweight electric AC trimmer that delivers continuous operation for yard borders close to a power source.

The Walk-behind lawn mower EINHELL GC-PM 56/2 S HW is best suited for owners of medium to large gardens who need high mowing capacity and a wide 56 cm path without being restricted by cords. Compared to narrower petrol alternatives, it reduces mowing time, and unlike lightweight trimmers, it is built for complete lawn coverage rather than minor edge detailing.
