Suitable for

• Network installations in homes and offices
• Connecting computers, switches, and routers via UTP cabling
• Expanding existing CAT5E local area networks
• Mounting into compatible faceplates and patch panels

When it may not be suitable

This module is not designed for environments requiring shielded cabling to protect against high electromagnetic interference. It may not meet the performance demands of high-speed enterprise networks that require CAT6, CAT6A, or higher categories.

Key specifications

• Cable category: CAT5E
• Cable type: UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair)
• Module type: Keystone
• Compatibility: SS-1xRJ45-PR or SS-2xRJ45-PR

How to use

To install the module, prepare the UTP cable by stripping the outer jacket and arranging the individual wires according to the specified T568A or T568B wiring standard. Punch down the wires securely into the terminal blocks using a compatible termination tool. Once wired, snap the Keystone module directly into a compatible patch panel, surface mount box, or wall faceplate such as SS-1xRJ45-PR or SS-2xRJ45-PR until it clicks securely into place.

What to consider before purchase

• Verify that your existing or planned network infrastructure utilizes CAT5E UTP cables
• Check compatibility with your mounting hardware, ensuring use with SS-1xRJ45-PR or SS-2xRJ45-PR if applicable
• Assess whether unshielded cabling is sufficient for your installation environment

Usage recommendations

Always maintain the correct wire twist length near the termination points to preserve signal integrity and ensure optimal network performance.
