The cable features an overall foil shield (FTP) to reduce electromagnetic interference and a low-smoke, zero-halogen (LSZH) outer sheath with Euroclass Dca reaction-to-fire rating, making it suitable for indoor environments where reduced smoke and halogen emissions are required. Supplied on a 305 m reel, the product is designed for structured cabling in offices, server rooms and commercial buildings.
The shielded FTP construction improves immunity to external electromagnetic interference and helps maintain signal integrity over typical Cat5e distances. The LSZH sheath minimizes hazardous smoke and corrosive gases in case of fire, while the Dca classification provides a recognized level of reaction-to-fire performance for indoor installations. The 305 m reel length reduces the number of joins and simplifies large-run installations.
Install the cable following standard structured cabling practices: route the cable along cable trays or conduits, avoid tight bends and mechanical strain, and maintain separation from strong electrical power sources to reduce interference. When terminating, use compatible RJ45 connectors or keystone jacks rated for Cat5e and for shielded cable termination, ensure the foil drain wire or shield is properly connected to the connector/ground. Test each run with appropriate cable testers to verify continuity, pair mapping and performance up to Cat5e specifications.
For best results, store and deploy the cable at room temperature, maintain minimum bend radius of four times the cable diameter, and ensure shield continuity by grounding at least one end when used in installations sensitive to electromagnetic interference.
