Junction box ELEKTROPLAST EP-LUX PK-4 with insert IP55, model 0233-01
The ELEKTROPLAST EP-LUX PK-4 junction box with insert and IP55 protection provides a sealed enclosure for electrical connections and cable branching. Made for mounting wiring joints, terminals and small control components, this compact enclosure helps protect connections from dust and low-pressure water jets. The product is intended for both indoor and outdoor use where a dust-protected, water-resistant junction point is required.
The enclosure delivers IP55-rated protection, combining resistance to dust ingress with protection from water jets, which reduces the risk of short circuits or corrosion at connection points. The included insert simplifies internal mounting of terminals and cable routing while keeping cables organized. Construction materials and closure design ensure a secure fit and ease of access for maintenance without exposing internal connections to the environment.
This junction box is not intended for applications requiring higher degrees of ingress protection such as full submersion or very high-pressure cleaning. It is also not designed to contain large switchgear, high-current busbars, or equipment that requires built-in thermal management or extensive internal mounting space.
Mount the junction box on a stable surface using appropriate screws or anchors. Route incoming and outgoing cables through the provided entry points, observing local wiring regulations and using suitable gland or sealing methods if additional cable sealing is needed. Install the internal insert and fix terminal blocks or connectors as required, making secure electrical terminations and ensuring that conductors are insulated and strain-relieved. Replace the cover and tighten fasteners to restore the IP55 seal before exposing the box to the environment.
For reliable performance, use correctly sized cable glands and provide strain relief for all cable entries. Periodically inspect the cover gasket and fasteners for damage or loosening, and re-tighten to maintain the IP55 seal after servicing. Avoid placing heat-generating devices inside the enclosure without assessing ventilation or heat dissipation needs.
