Residual Current Circuit Breaker KZS-2M B 16A 1P+N 30mA Type A 10kA
Residual Current Circuit Breaker KZS-2M B 16A 1P+N 30mA Type A 10kA combines overcurrent protection with earth-leakage detection in a compact single-pole-plus-neutral device. Designed for residential and light commercial distribution boards, this unit provides B-curve tripping for short-circuit and overload protection at a 16 A nominal current rating, while detecting both AC and pulsating DC leakage currents with 30 mA sensitivity to reduce the risk of electric shock and limit fire hazards.
The device integrates short-circuit/overload protection and residual current detection in one module, simplifying installation and saving DIN-rail space. A Type A residual current sensor detects AC and pulsating DC leakage for broader protection scenarios than AC-only devices. The 10 kA breaking capacity is suitable for common low-voltage installations, and the B-curve characteristic offers moderately fast tripping for general circuit protection without excessive nuisance trips.
This breaker may not be suitable for installations requiring higher breaking capacity than 10 kA or where selective coordination with upstream protective devices demands different characteristics. It is also not ideal for specialized equipment that generates high-frequency or smooth DC leakage components beyond the detection range of standard Type A devices; such cases may require Type B residual current protection.
Mount the KZS-2M B on a standard DIN rail inside the distribution board and make line and neutral connections according to local wiring standards and regulations. Ensure the breaker is installed downstream of the main isolator and upstream of the protected circuit. After wiring, test the device using the built-in test function or an RCD tester to confirm correct operation at 30 mA residual current sensitivity. Follow manufacturer torque settings for terminal screws and observe proper earthing practices during installation.
Use this residual current circuit breaker on final circuits supplying general-purpose sockets, lighting and common household appliances. Regularly test the device after installation and during periodic maintenance to ensure residual current protection remains effective. In installations with electronic equipment producing smooth DC leakage or where higher selectivity is required, consider alternative RCD types or upstream coordination.
