Residual Current Relay ETI KZS 2 M with Auto, 2-pole, 16 A, 30 mA
ETI KZS 2 M residual current relay is a compact 2-pole protective device designed to detect leakage currents and automatically disconnect supply when residual current reaches 30 mA. With a rated current of 16 A and automatic operation, this device is intended for installation in distribution circuits to enhance safety for people and equipment in residential and light-commercial environments. The relay fits standard DIN-rail switchboards and works alongside overcurrent protection to provide combined fault protection.
The ETI KZS 2 M provides reliable earth-fault detection with 30 mA sensitivity to reduce risk of electric shock. Its automatic trip function simplifies operation and maintenance by eliminating manual testing for basic fault response. The 2-pole configuration and 16 A rating make it suitable for protecting single-phase circuits, and the compact design supports installation in limited space within consumer units.
This unit is not suitable for installation in circuits that require higher continuous currents than 16 A or for three-phase systems requiring 3- or 4-pole residual current devices. It is also not a substitute for overcurrent protection; a correctly rated circuit breaker or fuse must be used in combination to protect against short-circuit and overload.
Install the ETI KZS 2 M in the consumer unit on a standard DIN rail according to local wiring regulations. Connect the line and neutral conductors through the device terminals following the polarity markings, and ensure a suitably rated overcurrent protective device is in place upstream. After installation, verify operation by applying a test procedure as required by local safety standards; consult an electrician if unfamiliar with protective device installation. The device operates automatically and will trip when leakage current exceeds the 30 mA threshold.
For safe and reliable protection, use the ETI KZS 2 M together with proper overcurrent protection and follow local electrical codes. Periodically test residual current devices according to regulations and replace the unit if it fails to trip during testing or shows signs of damage.
