Interface Card Exsys EX-42032 Internal Serial
The EXSYS EX-42032 PCI I/O card provides two high-performance serial ports with selectable RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485 interfaces. Designed for installation in a PCI or PCI-X slot, the card expands a PC, small workstation or server with two additional UART 16C550-based serial channels. Pin 9 on the serial connectors can be configured to supply +5V or +12V (Power over System) for POS devices. The card is plug-and-play compatible and supports automatic RS-485 transmitter control.
The EX-42032 offers flexible serial interfacing by allowing each port to be individually configured for RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485 operation. Built around UART 16C550 chips, it delivers reliable, high-performance asynchronous communication and supports ATTATM Auto RS-485 transmitter features to simplify half-duplex bus control. Power on pin 9 adds convenience for point-of-sale peripherals, and PCI/PCI-X compatibility ensures straightforward installation in a wide range of systems.
Install the EX-42032 into an available PCI or PCI-X slot on the target system while the computer is powered off. Secure the card and connect the serial cables to the external connectors. Configure each port for RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485 operation as required by the connected device, and set pin 9 output to +5V or +12V if power is needed for POS peripherals. Power on the system and allow the operating system to recognize the plug-and-play card; install drivers if required by your OS.
Use shielded serial cables and proper grounding in industrial environments to maintain signal integrity. When using RS-485 in multi-drop networks, ensure correct termination and biasing. Verify the required voltage on pin 9 before supplying power to connected devices.
