Interface cards adapter EXSYS EX-45032
The EXSYS EX-45032 PCI I/O card adds two configurable high-performance serial ports to a PC, small workstation or server via a PCI or PCI-X slot. Each port provides UART 16C550-compatible operation and can be independently set to RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485 mode. The card supports POS power on pin 9 (+5V or +12V selectable), ATTATM Auto RS-485 transmitter control and is plug-and-play compatible.
The card delivers flexible serial connectivity with two ports that support multiple standards (RS-232/422/485) and hardware-compatible 16C550 UARTs. Configurable POS power on pin 9 simplifies integration with point-of-sale devices, while ATTATM Auto RS-485 support eases half-duplex bus control. Plug-and-play operation and PCI/PCI-X form factor enable straightforward installation in a wide range of systems.
Install the EXSYS EX-45032 into an available PCI or PCI-X slot on the host system, secure the card and attach serial cables to the DB9 connectors. Configure each port for the required standard (RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485) and set POS power on pin 9 if external device power is needed. Install drivers provided by the system or vendor if required; the card supports plug-and-play recognition on compatible operating systems. For RS-485 operation, ensure termination and biasing comply with your bus topology and enable ATTATM Auto RS-485 if automatic transmitter control is desired.
Use shielded serial cables and proper ground connections in industrial environments to reduce noise. For RS-485 networks, follow recommended termination and bias resistor placement and avoid star topologies to ensure reliable multi-drop communication.
