EXTRALINK PLC 1:8 0.9mm fiber optic splitter with SC/UPC connectors is designed for passive optical signal distribution in FTTH networks. The device splits a single optical input into eight equal outputs using planar lightwave circuit (PLC) technology. Housed in a compact steel box and built on a 0.9 mm pigtail, the splitter provides a space-efficient solution for installations in switches and fiber closures.
The PLC splitter offers symmetrical 1:8 power distribution with SC/UPC connectors on both input and outputs, ensuring uniform signal splitting. The 0.9 mm pigtail cable simplifies routing and organization inside fiber organizers, while the compact steel enclosure facilitates secure mounting and protection. Packaged in blister packs to prevent cable tangling during transport and storage.
Connect the incoming fiber (server or distribution line) to the SC/UPC input connector of the PLC splitter. Route the eight SC/UPC output pigtails to the respective client fibers or patch panel ports, securing the 0.9 mm pigtail within the organizer to avoid stress on the fibers. Mount the compact steel enclosure inside a switch cabinet or fiber closure as required by the installation site. Verify optical power levels at each output to ensure correct splitting and acceptable loss margins.
Handle the 0.9 mm pigtail carefully to avoid bending below manufacturer-specified radius. Use proper fiber management and strain relief when mounting the splitter. Clean SC/UPC connectors before mating and perform power measurements after installation to confirm performance.
