Pigtail LC/UPC Singlemode Extralink G.657.A1 900µm FTTH 1 m
Pigtail LC/UPC Singlemode Extralink G.657.A1 900µm FTTH 1 m is a factory-terminated singlemode optical pigtail with an LC/UPC connector and 1 metre of 900 µm buffered fibre. The pigtail uses G.657.A1 singlemode fibre optimized for FTTH deployments, offering improved bend performance that helps maintain low attenuation in confined spaces such as distribution boxes, cabinets and customer premises. It is intended for splicing to drop cables and for neat terminations on patch panels and outlet sockets where a compact LC connector and singlemode transmission are required.
The Extralink pigtail combines a compact LC/UPC connector with 900 µm buffered G.657.A1 fibre to provide reliable singlemode connections with enhanced bend tolerance. Its 1 m length gives sufficient working slack for splicing and panel routing while minimizing excess cable in confined enclosures. The factory-polished LC/UPC endface ensures consistent insertion loss and return loss characteristics suitable for FTTH and data centre environments.
Strip the outer jacket and prepare the field fibre according to standard singlemode splicing procedures. Use appropriate cleaving tools and a fusion splicer to join the field fibre to the pigtail, ensuring alignment and low splice loss. Route the 1 m pigtail inside the enclosure or patch panel to the designated LC adapter or outlet and secure it with cable management to avoid strain. Verify connection quality with an optical power meter or OTDR as required for the network commissioning.
Handle the LC/UPC connector and 900 µm buffered fibre carefully to avoid contamination and physical damage. Use protective dust caps until final installation, maintain proper bend radii during routing, and store excess length in appropriate spools or managers inside cabinets. Follow supplier and industry best practices for fusion splicing, fibre cleaning and testing to ensure reliable long-term performance.
