Extralink LC/UPC pigtail PVC single-mode 900µm G.652D 2 m
Extralink LC/UPC pigtail PVC single-mode 900µm G.652D 2 m is a 2-metre single-mode fibre optic pigtail with an LC/UPC connector and a PVC outer jacket. The internal fibre is a 900 µm buffered single-mode fibre manufactured to ITU-T G.652D specification, providing low attenuation and stable transmission characteristics for FTTH and other single-mode applications. The pigtail is intended for splice termination to distribution cables, for connecting optical modules and for terminating fibres in patch panels and distribution boxes where compact connectors and reliable splices are required.
The 900 µm buffered fibre and G.652D design ensure low bending sensitivity and consistent optical performance in tight routing environments. The LC/UPC connector offers a compact form factor and high mating density suitable for modern patch panels and optical transceivers. PVC outer jacket provides basic mechanical protection and flexibility for indoor installations, while the 2 m length gives sufficient slack for splicing and routing inside distribution cabinets and customer premises.
Prepare the distribution cable and pigtail for fusion splicing according to standard fibre handling procedures: strip the jacket and buffer, clean the bare fibre with isopropyl alcohol, and cleave using a precision cleaver. Perform fusion splicing between the pigtail fibre and the distribution fibre, then protect the splice with an appropriate splice protector and place it inside a splice tray or enclosure. Route the LC/UPC connector to the required patch panel or optical module and secure the cable to avoid strain on the splice and connector.
Use proper electrostatic-safe tools and clean-room practices when handling the single-mode fibre. Avoid tight bends below the recommended minimum bend radius and secure the pigtail with cable ties or routing clips to prevent mechanical stress. For outdoor or harsh environments, consider pigtails with more robust jackets or additional protection; for indoor FTTH installations, the PVC-jacketed 2 m pigtail is typically suitable.
