Fiber patchcord Extralink SC/APC–SC/APC singlemode G.652D 3 mm simplex, 1 m is a singlemode fiber optic jumper terminated with SC/APC connectors on both ends. The cable uses ITU-T G.652D singlemode fiber in a 3 mm simplex jacket and is manufactured for low insertion loss and stable optical performance in telecom and data-center environments. It is suitable for short patching runs between equipment, fiber distribution panels and FTTH terminations where SC/APC interface and singlemode transmission are required.
The patchcord provides low back reflection and consistent insertion loss due to angled physical-contact SC/APC connectors and G.652D singlemode fibre. Its 3 mm jacket offers mechanical protection and easy handling for rack, patch panel and wall-plate installations. The simplex design reduces clutter for single-fibre links while maintaining predictable optical properties for signal integrity.
Connect one SC/APC connector to the optical port of the source equipment and the other SC/APC connector to the receiving device or patch panel port, ensuring the angled faces are clean and aligned before insertion. Avoid bending the cable below its minimum bend radius, and secure the cable along racks or trays to prevent strain on the connectors. Inspect and, if necessary, clean connector end-faces with appropriate fibre cleaning tools before making the connection to minimize insertion loss and reflections.
Store and install the patchcord in environments protected from excessive dust and mechanical stress. Use dust caps on unused connectors, handle connectors by the boot to avoid touching the ferrule, and follow standard optical-fibre safety and handling practices. For critical links, verify insertion loss and return loss with appropriate test equipment after installation.
