Patchcord Extralink SC/APC–SC/APC Single Mode Duplex G.652D 3 mm, 3 m
Extralink SC/APC–SC/APC Single Mode Duplex patchcord is a 3 m fiber-optic connection cable built with ITU-T G.652D single-mode fiber and a 3 mm outer jacket. Terminated with SC/APC connectors on both ends, this duplex patchcord provides low-loss, full-duplex optical links for FTTH deployments, telecom equipment interconnects and optical patch panels. The cable’s single-mode construction and APC angled connectors reduce back reflection and support stable signal transmission over access and distribution links.
The SC/APC–SC/APC duplex configuration ensures reliable full-duplex communication with minimized return loss due to the angled physical-contact connector endfaces. A 3 mm jacket balances flexibility and mechanical protection for routing in racks, enclosures and terminal boxes. Using G.652D single-mode fiber provides compatibility with standard single-mode systems and predictable attenuation characteristics for telecom and FTTH networks.
Route the patchcord through cable management channels or cable ties without sharp bends; maintain the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius to avoid increased attenuation. Align and insert the SC/APC connectors into matching SC/APC adapters or ports until they click into place, ensuring the keyed bodies are oriented correctly for duplex pairs. For removal, depress the connector latch and pull straight out. Inspect connector endfaces for contamination and clean with approved fiber cleaning tools before insertion to ensure optimal optical performance.
Store unused patchcords coiled loosely and secured with a soft tie. Avoid tight bends and mechanical strain; perform visual and/or optical inspection after installation and use appropriate cleaning procedures for APC endfaces to maintain low insertion loss and high return loss performance.
