RJ45 connector Extralink CAT6A FTP 8P8C, transparent, male/female, 1 pc
Extralink RJ45 Connector CAT6A FTP 8P8C is a single transparent RJ-45 connector designed for terminating shielded CAT6A FTP twisted-pair cables. The connector accommodates standard 8P8C wiring and is supplied as one piece, providing a compact solution for making or repairing network terminations on shielded Ethernet lines. Its transparent body allows visual inspection of conductor placement during installation.
The shielded design ensures continuity of the cable’s foil shielding, reducing electromagnetic interference in environments with high signal noise. Eight gold-plated contacts provide reliable electrical contact and corrosion resistance. The transparent housing simplifies alignment of the conductors and visual verification of wiring order. The connector is sized for CAT6A performance, supporting higher data rates and improved skew characteristics compared with lower category plugs.
Prepare the CAT6A FTP cable by trimming the outer jacket and folding back the foil shield as required for the connector type. Arrange the conductors according to the chosen wiring standard (T568A or T568B), insert them fully into the 8P8C contacts while keeping the shield in contact with the connector's metal shell, and crimp using a tool that supports shielded RJ45 plugs. After crimping, inspect the connector visually through the transparent housing to confirm full insertion and correct conductor order, and perform a cable test to verify link continuity and performance.
Use a compatible crimping tool and follow industry wiring standards (T568A/T568B). Ensure the shield makes electrical contact with the connector shell to retain overall cable shielding. Test each terminated cable with a network cable tester rated for CAT6A to confirm performance.
