Patchcord SC/UPC–SC/APC single-mode simplex 3mm 10m, Extralink
Extralink single-mode simplex patchcord SC/UPC–SC/APC, 10 m length, 3 mm FTTH cable with G.652D fibre is designed for reliable optical signal transmission in fiber networks and FTTH installations. The cable features an SC/UPC connector on one end and an SC/APC connector on the other, enabling angled and ultra-polished terminations where required. Its yellow jacket and 3 mm diameter make it suitable for standard indoor patching and interconnection tasks between patch panels, optical terminals and active equipment.
This patchcord provides single-mode performance following G.652D fibre parameters, ensuring low attenuation and stable signal quality over typical access network distances. The combination of an SC/UPC and an SC/APC connector allows compatibility with equipment that requires either a perpendicular or an angled physical contact termination, reducing back reflection where needed. The 3 mm outer diameter balances flexibility and mechanical protection for indoor routing and cabinet installations.
Route the patchcord along appropriate cable management paths avoiding sharp bends and mechanical stress. Insert the SC/UPC connector into the corresponding UPC female adapter or port and the SC/APC connector into the APC-compatible port or adapter, ensuring correct alignment and a secure push-pull connection. Verify cleanliness of connector endfaces before mating to prevent signal loss; use a fibre inspection tool and, if necessary, clean with approved wipes and cleaning solution. After installation, label both ends to reflect port and equipment identifiers.
For optimal performance, avoid bending the cable below its minimum bend radius, keep connectors capped when not in use, and use APC ports where low back-reflection is critical (for example in analog RF-over-fibre links or sensitive optical transmitters). Regularly inspect and clean connector endfaces during maintenance to maintain low insertion loss and reliable connections.
