Fiber patchcord Extralink LC/UPC - SC/UPC Singlemode G.652D 3mm Simplex 5m
Extralink fiber patchcord LC/UPC - SC/UPC Singlemode G.652D 3mm Simplex 5m is a single-mode fiber jumper designed for low-loss optical connections in access and enterprise networks. The cable uses G.652D single-mode fiber with a 3.0 mm jacket and simplex construction, terminated with an LC/UPC connector on one end and an SC/UPC connector on the other. At 5 meters length, it is suitable for short patching runs between equipment, fiber distribution panels and optical termination points in FTTH and ISP installations.
The patchcord delivers consistent single-mode transmission characteristics that comply with G.652D fiber performance, ensuring low attenuation and stable signal integrity for long-distance links when used in access networks. Its LC/UPC and SC/UPC connector combination enables compatibility with commonly used optical ports on switches, media converters, ONT/ONU devices and patch panels. The 3 mm jacket provides moderate mechanical protection and easy handling for installation in cabinets, conduits and wall outlets.
Connect the LC/UPC end to the device or transceiver with an LC port and insert the SC/UPC end into the corresponding SC port on the opposite device or patch panel. Ensure that connectors are clean before mating to avoid increased insertion loss; use appropriate fiber cleaning tools or wipes. Route the 3 mm cable without tight bends and secure within cable management panels or clips to avoid microbends. For best results, verify optical power levels or link continuity with a power meter or visual fault locator after installation.
Store and transport the patchcord in a coil with a radius larger than the minimum bend radius specified for 3 mm single-mode fiber. Avoid touching the ferrule endfaces and always cap unused connectors. Use the patchcord in indoor environments; if outdoor or riser-rated installation is required, select a cable with appropriate environmental ratings.
