Fiber patchcord Extralink SC/APC–SC/APC Singlemode G.652D Simplex 3 mm 2 m
Extralink SC/APC–SC/APC Singlemode G.652D Simplex 3 mm 2 m is a singlemode fiber optic patchcord designed for low-backreflection connections in telecom, FTTH and data communication environments. The cable uses G.652D singlemode fiber in a 3 mm FTTH jacket and is terminated with SC/APC connectors on both ends in a simplex configuration. Its 2 m length suits short-distance links such as patch panels, optical transceivers and direct point-to-point connections.
The patchcord offers APC-angled SC terminations to minimize return loss and reflections, which is important for singlemode transmission quality. The 3 mm FTTH outer jacket provides mechanical protection and flexible handling during installation. A standardized SC connector interface ensures compatibility with common patch panels and transceiver ports used in telecom and FTTH deployments.
This simplex SC/APC–SC/APC patchcord is intended for singlemode networks and is not suitable for multimode applications. It is designed for short, indoor patching runs and may not be appropriate for outdoor direct burial or long-haul runs without additional protective routing and environmental protection.
Route the patchcord between the required ports, aligning SC/APC connectors with matching SC/APC sockets on patch panels or optical transceivers. Insert each SC connector until it clicks into place, ensuring the angled-polish faces are not contaminated. Use appropriate fiber management (cable guides, splice trays, and bend-radius protections) to avoid tight bends and mechanical stress. Clean connector endfaces with a lint-free wipe and fiber-grade cleaner before mating to reduce insertion loss.
Store and handle the patchcord by the connector body and cable jacket, maintain minimum bend radius as specified for 3 mm FTTH cables, and keep connector endfaces clean to ensure optimal singlemode performance and low return loss.
