Fiber optic pigtail Extralink LC/UPC multimode OM3 50/125, 2 m, Easy strip
Extralink LC/UPC multimode fiber optic pigtail OM3 50/125 µm, 2 m, with Easy strip jacket provides a short pre-terminated fiber segment for splicing and patching in FTTH, LAN and data center environments. One end is fitted with an LC connector with UPC polish for insertion into standard LC ports; the other end is a bare fiber prepared for fusion or mechanical splicing. The OM3 multimode grade supports high-bandwidth short-reach multimode applications and is compatible with multimode patch panels and transceivers.
This Extralink pigtail offers a ready-made LC/UPC termination that reduces on-site connectorization time and ensures consistent connector quality. The Easy strip jacket simplifies fiber preparation by allowing controlled removal of the outer layers without damaging the glass fiber, which speeds up splicing operations. OM3 multimode fiber provides improved modal bandwidth for short-distance data links commonly used in enterprise and telecom racks.
Route the pigtail to the splice tray or patch panel location and secure the cable to avoid strain on the splice point. Prepare the bare fiber end by removing the Easy strip jacket and secondary coating according to standard fiber handling procedures, then cleave and perform fusion or mechanical splicing to the installed fiber. Insert the LC/UPC connector into the corresponding LC adapter or patch panel port and verify end-face cleanliness before making the connection. Perform insertion loss and reflectance tests after splicing and termination to confirm link performance.
Handle the OM3 multimode fiber by its jacket and avoid bending beyond the specified minimum bend radius. Use proper cleaning tools for the LC/UPC connector end-face and follow standard splicing and testing procedures to ensure low loss and reliable connections.
