Product information

Description

The Extralink EX.12998 wall mounted rack is a compact 6U cabinet designed for secure and organized installation of network, server and CCTV equipment. With external panels made of cold-rolled steel and a grey finish, the rack combines a durable structure with a neutral appearance suitable for offices, server rooms and monitoring stations. The cabinet includes vertical rack rails with clear 6U markings, a reversible front door and a keyed lock for controlled access. Ceiling cutouts allow installation of up to two fans for improved ventilation and there is additional conduit space for cable routing.

Advantages

This 6U wall mounted rack supports up to 40 kg of equipment and provides clearly marked vertical rails for precise mounting. The reversible door and removable side panels with snap fasteners simplify access and maintenance while the keyed lock enhances security. Cold-rolled steel construction increases rigidity and the ceiling openings for fan installation improve thermal management of installed devices.

Suitable for

  • Small network switches and patch panels
  • Compact servers and NAS devices in constrained spaces
  • CCTV DVR/NVR units and video recording equipment
  • Telecommunications and VoIP equipment in offices
  • Wall-mounted installations in server rooms, wiring closets and monitoring stations

Key specifications

  • Rack capacity: 6U
  • Height: 370 mm (total cabinet height 37 cm)
  • Depth: 450 mm
  • Width: 600 mm
  • Weight capacity: up to 40 kg
  • Material: cold-rolled steel panels
  • Colour: Grey
  • Front door: reversible (left/right) with key lock
  • Vertical rails with unit markings
  • Ceiling openings for up to two fans and cable conduit

How to use

Mount the rack to a solid wall using appropriate anchors and fasteners rated for the combined weight of the cabinet and installed equipment. Install devices on the vertical rails using standard 19" mounting hardware, aligning them with the clearly marked 6U positions. Use the reversible door and removable side panels to access equipment and routing space; secure the cabinet with the supplied key lock when access control is required. If additional cooling is needed, install compatible fans into the ceiling openings and route power and network cabling through the provided conduit space.

Usage recommendations

Distribute equipment weight evenly across the rack and avoid exceeding the 40 kg load limit. Ensure proper ventilation by leaving clearance around active devices and, when required, fit fans to the cabinet ceiling openings. Use appropriate wall anchors for the mounting surface and periodically verify that fasteners and snap-fit side panels remain secure.
