Extralink patchcord SC/UPC to LC/UPC singlemode G.657.A1 FTTH 3mm, 1 m, yellow
Extralink patchcord SC/UPC to LC/UPC singlemode G.657.A1 FTTH 3mm, 1 m, yellow is a singlemode fibre optic cable designed for FTTH terminations and telecom equipment connections. The simplex 3 mm jacketed cable uses G.657.A1 fibre and is terminated with an SC/UPC connector on one end and an LC/UPC connector on the other. With a 1 m length and yellow outer sheath, this patchcord is suitable for short links between patch panels, ONT/ONU devices and optical transceivers where singlemode performance and bend-insensitive fibre characteristics are required.
The cable uses G.657.A1 bend-insensitive singlemode fibre, providing improved tolerance to tight bends compared with older singlemode types while maintaining low insertion loss and return loss consistent with UPC polishing. The SC/UPC and LC/UPC connectors provide reliable mechanical mating and low optical loss for common telecom and FTTH terminations. The 3 mm jacket offers mechanical protection and ease of handling in rack and cabinet environments. The yellow sheath follows industry colour coding for singlemode fibres, simplifying identification during installation and maintenance.
Verify connector types on both ends of the equipment and patch panel before connecting. Remove protective dust caps from SC/UPC and LC/UPC connectors and inspect endfaces for contamination; clean if necessary using appropriate fibre cleaning tools. Insert the SC connector into the SC adaptor or panel port until it latches, and insert the LC connector into the LC port until it clicks. Avoid tight bends near termination points and secure the cable to prevent strain on connectors. When disconnecting, depress the latch on each connector and pull straight out without excessive twisting.
Store the patchcord coiled with a gentle radius, avoid bending below the specified minimum bend radius for G.657.A1 fibre, and keep connector endfaces capped when not in use to maintain low loss and reliable performance in FTTH deployments.
