Patchcord Extralink SC/APC–SC/APC Singlemode Duplex G.657.A1 3 mm 1 m
Extralink SC/APC–SC/APC Singlemode Duplex G.657.A1 3 mm 1 m is a factory-terminated singlemode fibre optic patchcord designed for short interconnects in FTTH, telecom and data centre environments. The cable features two G.657.A1 bend-insensitive singlemode fibres in a compact 3 mm jacket and SC/APC connectors on both ends to ensure low back-reflection and stable singlemode transmission over a 1 m channel. The duplex configuration provides a reliable, colour-consistent connection for transmit/receive pairs and is suitable for installations where compact, high-quality singlemode links are required.
The patchcord uses G.657.A1 bend-insensitive fibres that reduce signal loss in tight bends and constrained routing paths, improving reliability in FTTH and indoor installations. SC/APC ferrules and angled-polish endfaces deliver low return loss and stable optical performance for singlemode links. A 3 mm jacket balances mechanical protection and flexibility for handling, installation and routing through conduits or patch panels. Factory termination ensures consistent connector quality and reduces on-site termination time.
Unpack the patchcord and inspect connectors for protective caps; remove caps immediately before insertion. Plug the SC/APC connectors into matching SC/APC ports on equipment such as OLTs, ONUs, switches or media converters, aligning the keyed housings for a secure fit. Avoid sharp bends and maintain manufacturer-recommended bend radius along the cable route. Use cable management and patch panels to secure and strain-relieve the patchcord to prevent mechanical stress on connectors and fibres.
Store unused patchcords with protective caps in a dry, dust-free environment. When routing through ducts or trays, maintain gentle curves and avoid compressive forces; replace if connector endfaces become contaminated or damaged. For best optical performance, clean APC endfaces with proper fibre cleaning tools before mating and verify connections with an optical power meter or visual fault locator as part of installation verification.
