Extralink SC/APC–SC/APC patchcord is a ready-made single-mode duplex fiber jumper designed for reliable indoor and FTTH optical connections. The cable uses G.657.A1 bend-insensitive fiber, a 3 mm outer jacket and SC/APC connectors on both ends to support full-duplex data transmission. With a 2 m total length and standardized SC/APC terminations, this patchcord is intended for direct connection between optical devices such as routers, ONT/ONT boxes, OLTs and patch panels in telecommunication and data network installations.
The use of G.657.A1 bend-insensitive single-mode fiber reduces signal loss in tight bends and constrained routing paths, improving reliability in wall ducts and customer premises. Duplex construction with matched SC/APC connectors ensures low back-reflection and stable optical performance for upstream and downstream channels. The 3 mm jacket provides a balance of flexibility and mechanical protection for repeated handling during installation and maintenance.
Before installation, verify cleanliness of SC/APC connectors and inspect the fiber ends for contamination. Align and insert each SC/APC connector into the corresponding adapter or transceiver port until a secure click is felt. Avoid tight bends and sharp kinks; maintain minimum bend radius recommended for G.657.A1 fiber when routing the cable through panels or conduits. For equipment removal or reconfiguration, carefully disengage the connector by pressing the latch and pulling straight out to prevent stress on the fiber.
Use a fiber cleaning kit or lint-free wipes with appropriate cleaning solvent before mating connectors. Route the 3 mm duplex cable in protective trays or conduit where possible, and label both ends to simplify maintenance. For best optical performance, pair SC/APC connectors with APC-type adapters and avoid mixing APC and UPC terminations.
