Network transceiver module Extralink EX.15081 Copper SFP 1250 Mbit/s
Network transceiver module Extralink EX.15081 Copper SFP 1250 Mbit/s
Extralink EX.15081 Copper SFP 1250 Mbit/s is a compact network transceiver module that provides a copper RJ45 interface for SFP ports. Designed for insertion into standard SFP slots, this module supports Gigabit Ethernet connections over copper cabling and is suitable for short-distance links up to typical 100 m on Category 5/5e cable. FCC certified, it offers a practical option for replacing or upgrading SFP ports on switches, routers and media converters that accept compatible SFP RJ45 modules.
The Extralink EX.15081 combines a small form-factor SFP housing with an RJ45 copper interface, enabling easy migration from fiber to copper or extension of copper connectivity through SFP slots. Its support for a 1250 Mbit/s maximum data transfer rate and compliance with common Gigabit Ethernet signaling make it interoperable with many network devices. The all-metal casing reduces electromagnetic interference and the module provides standard serial ID information accessible via the SFP management interface for compatibility checks and simple hot-swap upgrades.
Install the Extralink EX.15081 by inserting the module into a compatible SFP slot on your network device until it latches securely. Connect a Category 5/5e (or better) Ethernet cable to the RJ45 port and the remote device. The module exposes standard SFP serial ID information that can be read by the host via the SFP management interface; ensure the host device recognizes third-party SFP modules or enable compatibility settings if required by the device vendor. Verify link status and negotiation on the network device and perform any necessary configuration for VLANs, speed or duplex on the switch or router.
Use Cat5e or higher-rated twisted-pair cable for reliable Gigabit links and keep cable runs within the recommended 100 m limit. When installing in equipment from specific vendors, check device compatibility lists or enable third-party SFP support to ensure proper operation. Handle the module carefully during insertion and removal to avoid damaging the SFP connector or the host slot.
