Patchcord Extralink SC/APC–SC/APC Singlemode Duplex G.657.A1 3 mm 5 m is a singlemode duplex fibre optic patchcord with SC/APC connectors on both ends and a 5 m length. The cable uses bend-insensitive G.657.A1 fibre in a 3 mm jacket and is intended for full-duplex signal transmission in optical networks, splice cabinets, ONT connections and indoor FTTH installations where compact routing and low bend loss are required.
This patchcord provides low bend loss thanks to G.657.A1 bend-insensitive fibre and maintains stable singlemode performance for long-distance and access network links. The duplex SC/APC–SC/APC termination ensures APC angled mating for reduced back reflection, suitable for optical equipment requiring low return loss. The 3 mm jacket offers mechanical protection and easier handling in indoor installations, while the 5 m length covers typical connection distances between distribution points, ONTs and active devices.
Connect each SC/APC connector to the corresponding SC/APC receptacle on the devices or patch panel, ensuring proper alignment and a secure push-in engagement until it clicks. Route the 3 mm cable along cable management paths or inside ducting, avoiding sharp bends and tight knots; the G.657.A1 fibre provides increased bend tolerance but standard handling practices should be observed. For duplex connections ensure transmit and receive ports are correctly paired to establish full-duplex communication.
Before installation, inspect connector endfaces for contamination and clean if necessary with appropriate fibre-cleaning tools. Avoid repeated sharp bending and maintain minimum bend radius as recommended for indoor fibre cabling; secure the cable with clips or ties without compressing the jacket.
