Fibre optic cable Extralink EX.18570 5 m FTTH G.657.A2 SC–SC Green/Yellow
Extralink EX.18570 is a 5 m FTTH fibre optic patch cable with G.657.A2 single-mode bend‑insensitive fiber and SC–SC male connectors. It is intended for short-distance optical links inside homes, apartments and small offices, enabling reliable connections between optical terminals, wall outlets and network devices. The green/yellow jacket provides visual identification for fibre runs and the cable’s construction supports consistent signal transmission with minimal insertion loss in typical indoor installations.
The cable’s G.657.A2 bend‑insensitive single-mode fiber reduces performance degradation when routed through tight bends or around corners. SC–SC connectors on both ends ensure simple push‑pull mating with common FTTH outlets and equipment. At 5 meters length the patch cord offers flexibility for equipment placement while avoiding excessive slack. The durable jacket and factory‑terminated connectors provide ready-to-use, low‑loss connections that simplify installation and reduce the need for field termination.
Route the patch cord between the optical termination point and the target device without sharp bends; maintain bend radii appropriate for G.657.A2 fiber. Align and insert each SC connector into the corresponding SC socket until it clicks into place. For removal, press the SC connector latch and pull straight out. Avoid touching the ferrule endfaces; if necessary clean connector endfaces with approved fiber cleaning tools before mating to ensure low insertion loss and reliable optical performance.
Store the cable coiled without tight loops and avoid repeated bending at the connector junctions. Use dust caps on connectors when not in use and perform visual inspection or cleaning before connecting to active equipment to maintain optimal signal quality.
