Pigtail SC/APC Singlemode Extralink G.657.A1 900µm FTTH 1.5 m Easy strip
Extralink Pigtail SC/APC Singlemode G.657.A1 900µm, 1.5 m Easy strip is a singlemode fiber pigtail designed for FTTH and FTTx installations. Built on bend‑insensitive G.657.A1 fiber and terminated with an SC/APC connector, the 1.5 m pigtail features a 900 µm tight buffer and Easy strip construction to accelerate preparation and splicing. The product supports reliable singlemode transmission in compact distribution boxes and tight‑bend routing typical for customer premises and fiber distribution points.
The G.657.A1 bend‑insensitive fiber minimizes additional attenuation when routed through tight bends, enabling flexible cable management in cabinets and small enclosures. The 900 µm buffered jacket provides mechanical protection while keeping the outer diameter small for neat termination. Easy strip design simplifies buffer removal and reduces preparation time for fusion splicing or mechanical splicing. The SC/APC connector ensures low back‑reflection suitable for singlemode networks requiring angled physical contact.
Prepare the pigtail by cutting to the required length if necessary and follow standard fiber handling procedures: clean the connector endface, remove the required length of the 900 µm buffer using the Easy strip feature, and perform fusion or mechanical splicing into the installed fiber. After splicing, protect the joint with a heat‑shrink sleeve or splice protector and route the pigtail into the distribution box or patchpanel. Terminate the SC/APC connector in the adapter or outlet as required and verify continuity and insertion loss with appropriate test equipment.
Handle the fiber with care to avoid microbends or surface contamination. Use standard EIA/TIA splicing and testing procedures, maintain clean connector endfaces, and respect bend radius recommendations even though the G.657.A1 fiber is bend‑insensitive. Store and route pigtails in protective trays to prevent kinking and to maintain consistent performance.
