Extralink SC/UPC pigtail singlemode G.657.A1 900µm FTTH 1.5m easy strip
Extralink SC/UPC pigtail singlemode G.657.A1 900µm FTTH 1.5m easy strip is a factory-terminated optical jumper designed for in-premises and FTTx deployments. The pigtail uses single‑mode G.657.A1 fibre with a 900 µm tight buffer and an SC/UPC connector, providing a compact, low‑bend‑loss connection ideal for customer terminations, fiber distribution panels and small enclosures. The cable length is 1.5 m and the jacket is prepared for straightforward buffer removal to speed up splicing and installation.
The G.657.A1 fibre core reduces macro‑bend sensitivity, enabling reliable performance in confined routing paths and tight cabinets while maintaining single‑mode transmission characteristics. The 900 µm tight buffer offers easy handling and mechanical protection during termination and fusion splicing. The SC/UPC connector delivers a predictable, low‑loss mating interface compatible with standard SC ports. The easy strip design simplifies buffer preparation and reduces installation time in field termination and repair tasks.
Prepare the pigtail by removing the outer jacket and stripping the 900 µm buffer following the easy‑strip guidance; this exposes the bare fibre for fusion splicing or termination. Align and splice the exposed fibre to the network cable using a fusion splicer or insert the SC/UPC connector into the appropriate adapter or port on a patch panel or outlet. Secure the pigtail inside splice trays, distribution boxes or panels to protect the splice and maintain the required bend radius for G.657.A1 fibre.
Handle the bare fibre with care during stripping and splicing to avoid contamination and microbends. Maintain the recommended minimum bend radius for G.657.A1 fibre when routing inside enclosures. Use appropriate splice trays, cable ties and strain relief to prevent mechanical stress on the pigtail and ensure consistent low‑loss connections.
