Pigtail SC/UPC single-mode Extralink G.657.A1 900µm FTTH cable 1.5 m
Pigtail SC/UPC single-mode Extralink G.657.A1 900µm FTTH cable 1.5 m is a factory-terminated single-mode fiber lead designed for indoor FTTH and FTTx installations. The pigtail uses G.657.A1 optical fibre with a 900 µm coating and is terminated on one end with an SC/UPC connector, providing a ready-made interface for fusion splicing or insertion into patch panels and distribution boxes. With a 1.5 m length it allows convenient routing from termination points to splicing trays or connectors inside subscriber enclosures and cabinets.
The G.657.A1 fibre used in this pigtail offers improved bend resistance while maintaining low attenuation, which helps preserve signal quality in tight routing and compact distribution enclosures. The SC/UPC connector ensures stable, low-reflection single-mode connections suitable for FTTH applications. The 900 µm coating provides mechanical protection and flexibility for handling and organizing inside splicing cabinets and subscriber outlets. Pre-terminated ends reduce installation time by eliminating field connectorization.
Route the pigtail from the subscriber outlet or patch panel to the splicing tray or termination point, securing it with cable management accessories to avoid strain. Prepare the bare fibre end according to standard fusion splicing procedures, cleave and splice to the network fibre, then protect the splice with an appropriate sleeve. Insert the SC/UPC connector end into the corresponding adapter or patch panel port. Keep the 900 µm coated section within protective tubing or splice holder to prevent microbending and mechanical stress.
Handle the pigtail by the connector body and the coated fibre only; avoid touching or contaminating the ferrule. Use proper cleaning tools before insertion. Maintain bend radii above the minimum recommended for G.657.A1 where possible and secure the fibre in splice trays to prevent movement. For best results, perform end-face inspection after installation and use dust caps when ports are not in use.
