Pigtail Extralink SC/APC single-mode G.657.A1 900µm FTTH 3 m
Extralink Pigtail SC/APC single-mode G.657.A1 900µm FTTH 3 m is a factory-terminated single-mode fibre pigtail designed for FTTH and FTTx network terminations. The pigtail features a single SC/APC connector on a G.657.A1 bend-insensitive fibre with a 900 µm loose-buffer coating and a 3 m cable length. It is intended for fusion splicing into distribution cables or for termination inside patch panels and customer premises where compact routing and tight bends are common.
The use of G.657.A1 bend-insensitive single-mode fibre reduces loss at tight bend radii and improves reliability in confined spaces such as distribution boxes and cabinets. The SC/APC connector provides a consistently low back-reflection interface suitable for high-performance single-mode systems. A 900 µm loose-buffer coating gives flexibility for precise splicing and handling during installation while the 3 m length offers sufficient slack for typical rack- and box-mounted terminations.
Prepare the distribution fibre by stripping and cleaning according to standard splicing procedures. Perform fusion splicing between the distribution fibre and the pigtail end, then protect the splice with a heat-shrink sleeve or splice tray. Route the pigtail into the patch panel or distribution box and secure the fibre to prevent sharp bends; present the SC/APC connector at the panel or customer socket for optical equipment connection. Follow industry safety practices for fibre handling and disposal of fibre scraps.
Use gentle routing and appropriate bend-radius management to preserve the bend-insensitive properties of G.657.A1 fibre; avoid tight clamping and repeated sharp bends. Verify connector cleanliness before mating and test inserted loss and reflectance after installation to ensure compliance with network requirements.
