Fibre optic cable Extralink EX.19348 15 m SC–SC FTTH G.657.A2 Black/Green
Extralink EX.19348 15 m SC–SC FTTH G.657.A2 is a single-mode fibre optic patch cable designed for indoor and FTTH installations. The 15-metre length with SC connectors on both ends (SC–SC) allows straightforward connections between optical network terminations, ONTs, switches and media converters. The cable uses G.657.A2 fibre, providing low-bend-loss performance suitable for routing in narrow ducts, around corners and inside premises where space is limited.
This fibre optic cable combines single-mode G.657.A2 fibre with standardized SC terminations to ensure compatibility with common FTTH and indoor equipment. Low bending sensitivity reduces signal attenuation when the cable is routed in tight spaces or around sharp bends. The 15 m length gives flexibility for placement of devices without excess signal loss and the jacket construction is suitable for indoor deployment, offering mechanical protection while maintaining flexibility for installation.
Route the cable following existing indoor pathways, avoiding crushing or kinking the cable. Insert the SC connector ferrules into the corresponding SC adapters or ports until they click or seat fully. Ensure connectors are clean before mating using appropriate fibre cleaning tools to prevent contamination that can increase insertion loss. When installing in confined spaces, keep bend radii above the minimum recommended for G.657.A2 fibre where possible to maintain optimal optical performance.
Prior to connection, inspect and clean the SC connector endfaces to reduce insertion loss and protect equipment. Secure the cable along its route with appropriate clips or fasteners without applying excessive pressure. For permanent installations, label both ends to simplify future maintenance or reconfiguration.
