Fibre optic patch cable Extralink EX.2862 LC–LC 0.5 m G.652D FTTH yellow full duplex
Extralink EX.2862 is a 0.5 m single-mode fibre optic patch cable designed for short interconnects in FTTH and professional optical networks. The cable uses G.652D single-mode fibre with LC/UPC connectors on both ends in a duplex LC–LC configuration. Its yellow outer jacket denotes single-mode usage and the 3.0 mm round construction provides flexibility and durability for routing in patch panels, optical terminals and ONT/ONU devices.
The LC–LC duplex termination enables full-duplex data transmission with low insertion loss and stable optical performance over short runs. The G.652D fibre specification ensures compatibility with common single-mode systems and minimizes dispersion for typical access-network distances. The compact LC connector footprint is suited to high-density patch panels and small form-factor equipment. A 0.5 m length offers a tidy, low-tension connection between adjacent ports while the 3.0 mm jacket balances flexibility and mechanical protection.
Inspect connectors and ports for dust or debris before installation. Align the LC connector key with the receptacle and insert until it clicks to secure the connection. Use the duplex clip or boot to maintain correct polarity and routing of both fibres. Avoid tight bends and apply gentle strain relief at the termination points. For removal, depress the LC latch and pull straight out to prevent connector damage.
Store and handle the patch cable in a clean environment; use dust caps when connectors are not in use. Maintain minimum bend radius as specified by the manufacturer and avoid excessive pulling force. For critical links, test insertion loss and return loss after installation to verify link performance.
