Patchcord Extralink SC/UPC - SC/APC Singlemode Duplex, G.652D, 3 mm, 2 m
Extralink SC/UPC - SC/APC Singlemode Duplex patchcord is a 2 m fibre-optic jumper with a 3 mm jacket and G.652D single-mode fibre. It features an SC/UPC connector on one end and an SC/APC connector on the other, providing standard singlemode connectivity for telecom cabinets, optical network terminals (ONT/ONU), optical line terminals (OLT) and local distribution panels. The cable’s 3 mm outer diameter and PVC/Nylon jacket make it suitable for indoor installations and structured cabling where reliable optical links are required.
The patchcord offers low insertion loss and stable optical performance thanks to the G.652D fibre and polished SC connectors. Different connector polishes (UPC on one end, APC on the other) reduce back-reflection in heterogenous link segments. The cable construction supports repeatable measurement results and consistent parameters across installations, while the 3 mm jacket ensures handling durability and ease of routing in cabinets and patch panels.
Ensure both fibre ends and device ports are clean before connection. Route the patchcord through cable management to avoid sharp bends; maintain a bend radius recommended for 3 mm single-mode cables. Insert the SC/UPC and SC/APC connectors into the respective SC ports until they click or seat firmly. Verify link status on connected equipment and, if required, measure insertion loss or reflectance with appropriate test instruments.
Store and handle the patchcord in a clean environment, protect connector endfaces with dust caps when not in use, avoid tight bending or crushing of the cable, and clean connectors with approved fibre cleaning tools to maintain low loss and reliable operation.
