Extralink Atlas is an outdoor Gigabit PoE switch designed to provide stable network connectivity in external environments. It features eight 10/100/1000 Mbps downlink ports with PoE and two 1000 Mbps SFP uplink ports, delivering reliable performance for surveillance, remote monitoring, and extending network coverage in areas such as buildings, roads, forests and parks.

Advantages

It includes VLAN port isolation (ports 1–8) for controlled communication with uplink ports and a PoE Auto-check function that verifies connected devices and restarts unresponsive units. How to use

Mount the Extralink Atlas in a suitable outdoor location with adequate ventilation and secure grounding. Connect uplink(s) via the SFP ports to your backbone or router, then plug PoE-powered devices into the RJ-45 PoE ports. Configure device placement and cabling to respect the PoE budget (30W per port, 120W total). Use VLAN port isolation where required to restrict traffic between edge ports and allow communication only with uplinks. The PoE Auto-check feature runs automatically to monitor and restart unresponsive PoE devices.

Recommendations

For reliable long-term operation, use quality Cat5e or Cat6 cables and ensure the unit is installed with proper grounding and surge protection at the power source.
