Patchcord Extralink SC/UPC - LC/UPC Multimode OM2 Duplex 3mm, 3 m
Patchcord Extralink SC/UPC - LC/UPC Multimode OM2 Duplex 3mm, 3 m
Extralink SC/UPC - LC/UPC multimode patchcord OM2 Duplex 3 mm, 3 m is a factory-terminated optical cable designed for short-range network connections. The cable uses OM2 graded multimode fiber in a duplex assembly with an SC/UPC connector on one end and an LC/UPC connector on the other. With a 3 mm jacket and 3 m length, this patchcord is suitable for connecting switches, transceivers, patch panels, media converters and FTTH terminals where full-duplex multimode links are required.
This patchcord provides reliable multimode optical transmission for short-reach applications and is factory-polished for consistent connector end-face quality. The duplex construction supports simultaneous bi-directional communication while the 3 mm jacket offers a balance of flexibility and mechanical protection. The SC/UPC and LC/UPC connector combination enables compatibility between different form factors in modern LAN and telecom equipment without additional adaptors.
Inspect connector end faces for cleanliness before installation and use a suitable fiber cleaning tool if required. Route the patchcord to avoid sharp bends; maintain bend radii recommended for multimode fiber to prevent attenuation increase. Insert the SC/UPC connector into the corresponding SC port and the LC/UPC connector into the LC port until each connector clicks or seats fully. Verify link operation using network equipment or optical test equipment and store excess cable slack in cable management trays or organizers.
Handle connectors by the boot or connector body, avoid touching the ferrule surface, and keep protective dust caps on unused connectors. For optimal performance in multimode OM2 links, keep patchcord length appropriate to the link budget and avoid combining with singlemode segments. Regularly inspect and clean connectors in high-density installations to maintain low loss and stable connections.
