Fiber patchcord Extralink SC/APC–SC/APC singlemode G.657A1 3mm 3m
Singlemode fiber patchcord Extralink SC/APC–SC/APC Simplex G.657A1 with a 3.0 mm jacket and 3 m length is designed for low‑loss optical connections in FTTH, telecom and data center infrastructures. The cable uses bend‑insensitive G.657A1 fiber and SC/APC angled connectors on both ends to reduce back‑reflection and maintain signal integrity in installations with tight routing requirements. Simplex construction makes this patchcord suitable for point‑to‑point links where a single optical path is needed.
The use of SC/APC connectors provides low return loss and stable mating performance. G.657A1 bend‑insensitive fiber improves durability and signal retention in confined spaces and around sharp bends. The 3.0 mm jacket balances flexibility and mechanical protection, suitable for patch panels, wall outlets and equipment connections. Extralink manufacturing standards ensure consistent connector alignment and attenuation within typical singlemode tolerances.
Connect one SC/APC connector to the source equipment and the other to the receiving device or panel, ensuring connectors are clean before mating. Align the keyed SC housings and push until the connector latches engage; avoid rotating the connector after insertion to preserve the APC angled endface performance. Route the cable without sharp kinks and secure it with suitable cable management to prevent strain on the connector ends.
Before installation, inspect and clean connector endfaces with appropriate fiber cleaning tools to minimise insertion loss. Maintain bend radii recommended for G.657A1 fibre and avoid tight clamps at the connector strain relief. When used in patch panels, label both ends to simplify troubleshooting and future changes.
