Pigtail SC/UPC PVC Singlemode Extralink G.657.A1 FTTH 900µm 1 m yellow is a 1-metre singlemode pigtail designed for FTTH and FTTx deployments. It combines an SC/UPC connector on one end with a 900 µm tight-buffered bare fibre on the other end for reliable fusion splicing. The pigtail uses G.657.A1 fibre, which offers improved bend performance while maintaining singlemode transmission characteristics, and is jacketed in yellow PVC suitable for indoor fibre termination and patching.
The Extralink pigtail provides a factory-terminated SC/UPC connector for quick and consistent connections in patch panels and client outlets, while the 900 µm tight-buffered fibre simplifies handling and splicing. The G.657.A1 fibre specification reduces loss from tight bends and routing inside compact cabinets and distribution boxes, supporting neat installations in constrained spaces. The PVC jacket and standardized SC/UPC connector ensure compatibility with common indoor distribution equipment.
Prepare the fibre for fusion splicing by stripping the 900 µm tight buffer and cleaning the bare fibre according to the splicer and fibre manufacturer instructions, then perform fusion splicing to the network fibre. After splicing, protect the joint with an appropriate heat-shrink sleeve or splice protector and place the pigtail connector into the patch panel or customer's outlet. The pre-terminated SC/UPC connector can be plugged directly into compatible adaptors or transceivers in distribution frames.
Handle the 900 µm fibre carefully to avoid microbends; route the pigtail with gentle curves respecting the reduced bending radius characteristics of G.657.A1 fibre. Use proper splice protection and follow standard cleanliness procedures for connectors and fibres to maintain low insertion loss and long-term reliability.
