Extralink SC/APC to SC/UPC single-mode simplex patchcord G.652D 3 mm, 2 m
Extralink SC/APC to SC/UPC single-mode simplex patchcord G.652D 3 mm, 2 m is a factory-terminated optical jumper designed for point-to-point single-mode links. The cable uses ITU-T G.652D single-mode fiber inside a 3 mm simplex jacket and is terminated with an SC/APC connector on one end and an SC/UPC connector on the other. This patchcord is intended for short interconnection runs between telecom and data equipment, fibre termination panels, and FTTH customer premises where low insertion loss and reliable single-mode performance are required.
The cable delivers consistent single-mode transmission characteristics with low attenuation thanks to G.652D fiber and precision-polished SC/APC and SC/UPC ferrules. The 3 mm jacket provides mechanical protection and easy handling while maintaining flexibility for routing in cabinets and small conduits. Factory-assembled termini reduce variability and ensure repeatable optical performance for installation and testing.
Inspect connector endfaces before installation and clean if necessary using appropriate fiber cleaning tools to avoid contamination and increased loss. Insert each connector into the corresponding SC adapter or equipment receptacle, ensuring the APC angled ferrule aligns with APC adapters and the UPC ferrule aligns with UPC adapters to maintain correct mating. Route the 3 mm cable along cable management paths, avoiding tight bends below the specified minimum bend radius and securing the cable to prevent strain on the connectors. Perform basic optical tests after installation to verify insertion loss and continuity.
Use this patchcord for short fixed interconnect runs; avoid repeated mating cycles beyond connector specifications and protect connector endfaces with dust caps when not in use. For installations requiring identical connector types on both ends, choose a matching patchcord to prevent adapter mismatches.
