Patch cord Extralink SC/APC–SC/APC singlemode G.652D 3 mm 5 m simplex
Patch cord Extralink SC/APC–SC/APC singlemode G.652D 3 mm 5 m simplex
Extralink Patch cord SC/APC–SC/APC singlemode G.652D 3 mm 5 m simplex is a singlemode fibre optic patch cord designed for point-to-point connections and FTTH applications. The cable uses ITU-T G.652D optical fibre and a 3 mm FTTH-style jacket, terminated with SC/APC connectors on both ends to provide low insertion loss and high return loss typical of angled physical contact (APC) ferrules. The simplex configuration supplies a single optical path suitable for connecting optical equipment and for linking OLT, ONU/ONT or other terminal devices where a single fibre is required.
The cable construction with G.652D fibre ensures reliable singlemode transmission over typical access and metro distances while maintaining predictable attenuation characteristics. SC/APC connectors deliver improved back-reflection performance compared with flat or UPC terminations, which is important for systems sensitive to return loss. The 3 mm jacket balances flexibility and mechanical protection for installations in panels, ducts, or indoor risers. A 5 m length provides manageable reach for equipment racks, patch panels, and short interconnections without excess slack.
Inspect connector endfaces before installation and clean with an appropriate fibre cleaning tool if needed. Insert the SC/APC connector into the corresponding SC/APC receptacle by aligning the key and pushing until it clicks; avoid excessive bending or torsion of the 3 mm cable to prevent microbending loss. For equipment that uses APC ports, ensure mating connectors are APC to preserve return loss performance. Route and secure the cable in cable management systems to avoid strain on connectors and to maintain minimum bend radius specified for singlemode fibre.
For best long-term performance, use APC-to-APC connections where return loss matters, regularly inspect and clean endfaces before mating, and avoid tight bends or mechanical stress on the 3 mm cable. This product is intended for indoor and controlled-environment installations rather than direct burial or outdoor exposure without additional protection.
