Patchcord Extralink SC/APC–SC/APC Singlemode Simplex G.652D 3.0 mm 0.5 m is a singlemode simplex fiber patchcord with SC/APC connectors on both ends and a 0.5 m length. The cable uses G.652D singlemode fiber in an FTTH-type 3.0 mm jacket, offering a compact, low-loss link for connecting optical network equipment, splicing panels and customer-premises devices. The SC/APC terminations provide angle-polished connector endfaces for reduced back reflection, making the patchcord suitable for installations where signal integrity and return loss are important.
This patchcord combines singlemode G.652D fiber with SC/APC–SC/APC terminations to deliver low insertion loss and low back reflection in a compact simplex format. The 3.0 mm FTTH-type jacket provides good bend tolerance and mechanical protection while maintaining a small diameter for tidy routing in cabinets and panels. Short length (0.5 m) reduces unnecessary fiber loops in dense racks and is convenient for linking adjacent ports on active equipment or patch panels.
Connect each SC/APC connector to the corresponding SC/APC port on the devices or patch panel, ensuring that connectors are clean and free from dust or debris before mating. Align the keyed SC housings and push until the connector latches into place; do not force the connector. Avoid tight bends near the connector and maintain the cable bend radius recommended for FTTH 3.0 mm jackets to prevent microbending losses. When disconnecting, press the latch and gently pull the connector straight out.
Inspect connectors with a fiber inspection tool and use lint-free wipes with appropriate fiber cleaning solution before installation. Keep spare dust caps in place when connectors are not connected. For best performance in networks sensitive to reflections, use APC-terminated patchcords such as this SC/APC–SC/APC cable. Store short patchcords coiled loosely and avoid sharp bends or compression to preserve connector performance and fiber integrity.
