Patchcord Extralink SC/APC to LC/UPC Singlemode G.652D 3mm 10m Simplex
Patchcord Extralink SC/APC to LC/UPC Singlemode G.652D 3mm 10m Simplex is a singlemode fibre optic patchcord designed for low-loss connections in telecommunication and datacom networks. The cable uses G.652D singlemode fibre and features an SC/APC connector on one end and an LC/UPC connector on the other, with a 3 mm outer jacket and a 10 m length. This simplex cable is intended for point-to-point links, patch panels and FTTH terminations where compact connectors and reliable optical performance are required.
The Extralink patchcord provides low insertion loss and stable return loss characteristics thanks to the combination of SC/APC and LC/UPC polished connectors and G.652D singlemode fibre. Its 3 mm jacket offers mechanical protection and ease of handling during installation while maintaining flexibility for routing in equipment racks and conduits. The simplex termination ensures a straightforward single-fibre link between devices with different connector types, reducing the need for additional adapters.
Route the patchcord between the two devices ensuring gentle bends and avoiding tight loops; maintain the minimum bend radius recommended for 3 mm singlemode cable. Insert the SC/APC connector into the corresponding SC/APC adapter or port until it clicks, then insert the LC/UPC connector into the matching LC/UPC socket. Verify correct orientation for APC (angled) and UPC (flat) endfaces to ensure low return loss. After connection, secure excess cable length in a patch panel management tray or cable organizer to prevent strain on the connectors.
Keep connector endfaces clean and capped when not in use; use appropriate fibre cleaning tools before mating. Avoid excessive bending, crushing or tensile stress on the cable. For optimal optical performance, confirm connector compatibility (APC vs UPC) with connected equipment and inspect endfaces with a microscope if signal issues occur.
