Fibre optic cable Extralink EX.9236 G.652D FTTH 0.5 m SC–LC yellow
Extralink EX.9236 is a 0.5 m FTTH single-mode fibre optic patch cable with G.652D fibre, terminated with an SC connector on one end and an LC connector on the other. The yellow outer jacket indicates single-mode use and the compact SC–LC termination makes this cable suitable for short interconnections in fiber-to-the-home installations, patch panels and direct equipment links between optical switches, converters and ONT/ONU devices.
The cable uses ITU-T G.652D compliant single-mode fibre to ensure low attenuation and stable single-mode transmission over short distances. The mixed SC–LC termination combines the mechanical robustness of the SC interface with the space-saving, high-density LC connector. The 0.5 m length reduces excess slack in close equipment layouts and helps maintain neat, organised cabling in racks and customer premises.
Inspect connector endfaces for cleanliness before connecting; clean with appropriate fibre cleaning tools if necessary. Insert the SC connector into SC adapters or ports and the LC connector into LC adapters or transceiver sockets until secure. Route the 0.5 m cable to avoid sharp bends and protect it from crushing; maintain the minimum bend radius specified for 3 mm fibre cable during installation. Disconnect by releasing the connector latches and gently withdrawing without twisting.
Use this short SC–LC patchcord where compact routing and minimal excess length are required. Keep connectors capped when not in use to protect endfaces, and perform visual or test-based verification of link quality after installation.
