Patchcord Extralink SC/APC to LC/UPC Single Mode Duplex G.652D 3mm 3m
Patchcord Extralink SC/APC to LC/UPC Single Mode Duplex G.652D 3mm 3m is a single-mode duplex fibre patchcord with an SC/APC connector on one end and an LC/UPC connector on the other. The cable uses ITU-T G.652D single-mode fibre, has a 3 mm outer jacket diameter and a 3 m length, providing a compact, low-loss link for full-duplex optical connections between networking devices. It is designed for FTTH and telecom environments where stable single-mode transmission and accurate connector mating are required.
This patchcord combines two common connector types—SC/APC and LC/UPC—to enable direct connection between equipment with differing optical interfaces without using adapters. The G.652D single-mode fibre provides low attenuation and predictable dispersion characteristics for typical access and metro links. The 3 mm jacket offers mechanical protection and ease of handling in patch panels and cable runs while maintaining flexibility for routing. Factory-terminated connectors ensure consistent optical performance and reduce installation time.
Verify that connector types and polish angles match the equipment ports before connecting. Remove any protective dust caps and inspect connector endfaces for contamination or damage; clean with appropriate fibre-cleaning tools if necessary. Insert the SC/APC end into the corresponding SC/APC port until it clicks or seats fully, and insert the LC/UPC end into the LC/UPC receptacle with a firm but gentle push. Route the 3 mm cable to avoid sharp bends; maintain the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius and secure the cable to prevent strain on the connectors. For duplex links, ensure correct polarity so transmit and receive fibres align between devices.
Store and transport the patchcord with dust caps fitted to prevent contamination. Avoid excessive tensile force and repeated tight bending near the connector. When installing in distribution panels, use cable management accessories to prevent microbending and to maintain ordered duplex pairs. For best long-term performance, inspect and clean connector endfaces periodically, especially before critical connections or testing.
