Managed L2/L3 Network Switch EXTREME 5520-24X — 24 ports, 1080 Gbit/s switching capacity, rack-mount, USB and console ports
The EXTREME 5520-24X is a managed L2/L3 network switch designed for high-performance edge and aggregation deployments in rack-mounted environments. It provides a switching capacity of 1080 Gbit/s and supports enterprise features for segmented, policy-driven networks. The unit includes multiple management interfaces and is suitable for access-layer or cabinet use.
The switch offers a combination of edge and aggregation capabilities with support for protected network segmentation and advanced policy features. It includes a variety of ports for management and connectivity, flexible routing and management options, and compatibility with common IEEE networking standards for interoperability. The device's rack-mount form factor and multiple interfaces enable deployment in cabinet and data‑center access scenarios.
Install the switch in a standard rack following the rack-mount instructions. Populate SFP+ and QSFP28 modules as required for uplinks and stacking; empty ports indicate unpopulated cages that accept compatible transceivers. Connect the serial console (RJ-45) or Micro‑USB for initial CLI access, and use the 10/100/1000BASE-T out-of-band port or USB-A ports for management and configuration tasks. Configure L2 and L3 features, VLAN segmentation and policy controls through the management interface according to your network design and security requirements.
Use compatible SFP+/QSFP28 transceivers and follow vendor guidance for stacking and module installation. Ensure firmware is kept up to date and plan VLAN and policy segmentation before deployment to take full advantage of the switch's managed features.
